Moncrief Furnace that is building up black carbon in the pipe leading to the burners, how do i stop this?
The gas continues to come out of the pipe at the beginning of the burner. It practically backfire when the furnace flames shut off. But it continues to flame at the beginning of the connection, which is where the black carbon is building up, then eventually causing the furnace not to heat up.
Smokey is right. You have got to have plenty of primary air in order to have complete combustion...... But if gas continues to come out of manifold to the burner. You most likely have a defective gas valve!
