how do i hook up cable to a tv without the cable plug on the tv?
the plug for the cable is missing on the tv i have. so what i was wondering is if it would be possible to run the cable through a vcr into the tv with the red yellow and white av cables? if thats gona be possible could you give me step by step instructions on what goes where? thanks much
Does the VCR have Composite Video (yellow, red/white) outputs? Does the VCR have coaxial (cable from the wall kind of thing) Input? If so then that's it. Run the coaxial into the VCR. Run the Composite RCA out from the VCR into the TV. Then just make sure the TV is set to the right input. That's it.
Another alternative is to get an RF modulator. But it just does the same thing you described. You run the coaxial into the RF modulator. Then you run a Composite RCA feed out of it to your TV. Exact same thing you're wanting to do with the VCR. As long as the VCR has the right leads, then there's no reason to not just use that. But if the VCR doesn't have the right leads, get an RF modulator.
You can get RF modulators for cheap from places like Radio Shack. Or also check online at like Amazon.com. They have some good cheap ones from the RCA brand.
