Tv signal Lost where should I add an amplifier?

My whole house was wired with 59 cable. So i bought RG6 but it turns out that its to much of a hassle to tie the RG6 to the 59 and pull it through. So the cable company came and added an amplifier to boost the signal for our internet, but my tv is still fuzzy from the loss of signal, I was wonder if I cut the wire right before my tv, crimp it on both ends and add an amplifier will it help the picture? Or is there a better place to add the amplifier? or what any other suggestions that might help... ultimately i was hoping to get rid of the amplifiers altogether but If threess no easy way to do that then Ill just add amps...

An RF amplifier should always be placed as close to the signal source as possible. This insures that there is a sufficient signal strength difference between the TV signal and noise before both are amplified. Placing an amplifier next to the TV is the worse possible location because of this fact.

If you have a fuzzy image because of low signal strength, then changing out the current amplifier for a higher gain amp will provide superior results to adding cascaded (multiple) amplifiers. What kind of TV do you have? A HDTV will have a fuzzy image when receiving SD (analog) TV signal. If this is the case, consider upgrading your cable service to HD.
