How to provide for electricity safety at home
Electricity should be safe to use at home. This is used for most appliances at home. This are powered either directly or indirectly from the mains. Usually sockets or other fittings are used to transfer the power to the appliances using the provided supply cables. The power out lets should be located at specific heights for a particular appliance. It is advisable to use a qualified technician in the initial set up of the mains connections within the whole house.
In the safe use of electricity in the home, circuit breakers should be used to terminate power to outlets. This is important to stop short circuits incase of faults in the system. This usually go off and disconnect the power to stop the electric flow. Before any work commences on the systems, the main line must be off. The confirmation for this is by using a tester on any outlets switched on. This should not glow if the power is off. It is important to let everyone in the home know that work is being done. This is to stop accidentally switching on the power.
In the home electricity distribution, ample sockets, circuits and outlets must be provided. This is to avoid overloading of power outlets. It is important to check the fuse ratings of each plug before using an appliance. This should also be done with the correct carrying capacity of the item. This is for protecting the appliance. All power outlets should be earthed or grounded to prevent electric shocks. All of the outlets should use a three pin plug in order to have a grounded connection.
The height of the socket outlets should be a minimum of one foot above the finished floor level. The plates for covering this outlets should be of a non conducting material. This should also be fixed away from water sources like taps. It is important to have insulation on all pull switches. The wall covers should be difficult for one to poke pens or screw drivers without lifting the safety pin. All cords that are used with water based water machines should be well covered with rubber cords. all sockets should be in the required position so that cords are not over stretched.

Why can't I get any spark from my outboard motor?
I have a 1966 Mercury 650. It's a 4-cyl with what I have researched to be a magneto ignition. The only wires attached to it are a salmon color (for grounding it when ignition is switched off) and a brown one (connecting it to the mercury safety switch). They both connect at the same point.
I have filed and gapped the points and disconnected the mercury switch. Nothing has improved.
Please help!
I'm thinking it's a magneto problem. Hope you can still find the part.
