PVC Outfits - A Bit Of History!

Red Devil Cichlid Fish Breeding Habits?
I have a large male Red Devil and a much smaller Female Red Devil. They Are in a 4ft tank, with a divider (Have had the male for 3 yrs and only just purchaced the female) so that they could do no damage to each other. After about a month, the female layed about 500 eggs. I always thought that the male release his sperm in the water, but the eggs didnt get fertilised. I have just removed the divider, and they are getting along ok. (there is a good pvc pipe for the female to hide in) My question is, Does anyone know if these two will breed?? They have been kissing and playing for the last few hours without any trouble.....
If you waited a couple weeks since she laid eggs by herself she may be ready again. As long as they continue to get along and he doesn't beat her up real bad he will follow behind her as she lays the eggs and fertilizes them. Give them a large flat slate or granite rock to lay eggs on. They are generally good parents so be prepared to raise 500 fry.
